Beer, something that people, above the age of 21, indulge in for many reasons. It is hard to attribute when and were beer began but one thing is for sure, it has been enjoyed for many many years. There are many different types of beer from all over the world.
I think the reason I am so supportive of and enjoy craft beers so much is because of its entrepreneurship. The craft beer industry, to me, made it so people didn’t have to settle. People were drinking the same macro-brewed beers as everyone else, limiting the ability to stand out on your own with specific tastes that you, the beer drinker, prefer.
Now, there are many different styles of beer from all over the world. Porters, Pilsners, Pale Ales, Stouts…anything you can imagine there is a style for it. People have the ability to have conversations about the beers they enjoy and give reason for it.
People’s personal styles stand out with the beer they consume and even create now. People are brewing their own beers to their unique tastes in places as small as their garages. Individuality is on the rise and people are rebelling against the norm. People no longer settle for “whatever is available” anymore. It seems a bit simplistic and maybe even a bit of a stretch to say craft beer is so reflective of society, but to me it most certainly is.
